In honor of the United States' semiquincentennial, the Mary Little Deere - Fort Armstrong Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, is proud to present a commemorative display at the Moline Public Library. This four-case exhibition highlights the history and activities of Illinois and Rock Island County during the Revolutionary era, with a dedicated focus on the women patriots whose service advanced the American cause. We invite the community to visit the display at 3210 41st Street, Moline, Illinois, available for viewing through July 4.
The accompanying information boards by the Mary Little Deere - Fort Armstrong Chapter brings local history to life. The four-case display provides a detailed look at the 1778 frontier battles in "Illinois Country" and the service of the local militia. It also offers an important perspective on the Rock Island region by highlighting the presence of Native peoples and the historical tensions that shaped the American frontier during the Revolutionary era.
