DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest

Little Fort Chapter, NSDAR, works with ten area high schools. Each school selects a senior as its DAR Good Citizen based on a student's qualities of dependability which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality; service which includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others; leadership which includes personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility; and patriotism which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation; to an outstanding degree. Our chapter awards each DAR Good Citizen with a stipend, a pin, certficiate,, and a wallet card. The schools Little Fort Chapter, NSDAR,  works with are:

Illinois State Organization, NSDAR, offers two scholarships

IIllinois State Organization, NSDAR, offers two scholarships.

The Illinois DAR Scholarship requires a letter of endorsement from a local DAR chapter. Students must be U.S. citizens and attend colleges and universities in Illinois, including two-year junior college and four-year institutions, for any field of study. Contact us if you need a sponsoring chapter.

The General Henry Dearborn American History Scholarship is available for students pursuing a career in some phase of history. A sponsoring chapter is helpful for the applicant.
