DAR Honors Outstanding Students

The Mary Little Deere -- Fort Armstrong Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored an outstanding student.

Monday night, 17 May, 2010, Moline High School held its Senior Convocation. The John R 'Jack' Cervantes Memorial Scholarship was presented. This year it went to Madison Logan. Madison was our chapter’s DAR Good Citizen award winner from MHS. Members of the Cervantes family have presented a plaque to MHS to record all recipients of this memorial scholarship and each winner will also receive an individual plaque. There was a member of the family present at the convocation. Regent, Pat Staley presented a check to Madison for $1000.
