The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was founded on October 11, 1890,
and incorporated in 1896 by an Act of Congress.

The Belleville, Illinois Chapter, NSDAR, was organized August 1, 1916.

The Mission of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is to promote:

Historic Preservation: "...to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence."

Education: "...to promote, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge, thus developing an enlightened public opinion..."
